Tinkerbelle Coloring Book Demo: that Ryan Wood “thing”
Oct 25th, 2012 by Aldouspi

Been a while since I posted anything – apparently I’ve been busy yelling at students (aka teaching).

For extra-credit I usually assign to paint a coloring book page in Photoshop – since most of my students have yet to develop strong drawing skills. I borrowed the idea from Ryan Wood’s blog: http://woodyart.blogspot.com/2009/06/princess-coloring-book.html

For this semester I’ve been working on Tinkerbelle – I had started another of Belle…it’s around here somewhere. Perhaps by the end of the semester I’ll finish it.

Personal work: Hardcover Portfolio Book
Oct 14th, 2012 by Aldouspi

I just received my new portfolio book in the mail and I’m excited to show it off – also enjoy my danish accent.

I had my book printed through www.shutterfly.com. It’s a 12″x12″ hardcover photobook.

A few things to remember when you put together your portfolio book:

  • Contact information on the first page! This is really important, you want the Art Director’s to be able to contact you easily.
  • Number of images can vary but as a general rule no less than 9 and no more than 20 at the very most – preferably stick to around 12 of your very best.
  • Keep a consistent layout
  • Put your name and website address on each page
  • Make sure the print quality is top notch, you don’t want to be making excuses for your portfolio, it makes you look bad.
