First let me state that the work of Peruvian-born Alberto Vargas is a personal favorite of mine, his women are not only sexy, but also supremely elegant. And that amazing erotic beauty of his art is probably, why more than 100 years after his birth, Alberto Vargas is still regarded as “The King of Pin-Up Art.
Considered one of the greatest of the early modern glamour artists, Vargas’s carer began just prior to World War II. From the very beginning, Alberto Vargas was known as a painter of pin-up girls and erotica – he did calendar art, illustrations for Esquire Magazine and ended his career doing nude and erotic women art for Playboy.
