Lost in all the male artists and illustrators of the 20th century, especially from 1900 – 1960, is the fact that there were many women artists plying their trade in the art world and the commercial world. For example, Lucia Lerner was a classic American commercial illustrator of the Mid-20th Century. Here is an example of her work:
