Mastectomy Poems Cover Art and More
After a very trying 6-months of medical appointments and tests, my wife underwent a mastectomy surgery, removing her left breast. All went well, although the recovery period, now a month later, continues.
As a gift of love, I put together a small booklet of poems and art for my wife entitled the “Mastectomy Poems”. After reading it, my wife suggested I publish as it might by a comfort to other women who have had to deal with breast cancer in their life.
The book’s cover features a Glowing Light Tree of Life. I decided to make a short video using that image, which you will find below. (It may take a few seconds to load, please have patience.)
Here is the cover of the book,
Mastectomy Poems by Carl Scott Harker:
Putting the book together, writing the poems and creating the artwork (via openart.ai and other software tools) was cathartic. It is my creative way of seeing the world and expressing what I see, feel and think. My wife is important! And it has been a quite a journey from a routine mammogram to a serious surgical procedure for breast cancer. And, of course, the journey continues.
I believe this small book will ease other women and their families who are facing breast cancer. Anyway, know that those who read this post that you are loved and you are not alone. You can find the book on Amazon here: Mastectomy Poems
