Light and Sound of Space

Three images taken by the NASA’s Chandra X-ray Observatory have been turned into music in a process called sonification – assigning music values to frequencies of light.

Enjoy these three videos which are a celebration of both light and sound of the beauty of our Universe out there in space.

News About Light and Sound

Exploration

When I close my eyes and look to see
the inner place within myself –
mysterious light of a six pronged star
      and the music of instruments
or thunder or wind or huuuu
propel me into worlds unknown,
      beyond my imagination,

and I travel as an astronaut
      explores in outer space
and bring back stories
      wrapped in images and thoughts
as an orbital telescope captures
      the electromagnetic spectrum
      of the Universe
and brings it home
      to Earth.
