About Zombie Animals

Animals as well as humanoids can be turned into undead things, most commonly known as a zombie. Zombie animals look like the animal they were in life only with rotting, falling off flesh (some are completely skeletal), and are completely feral and mindless creatures which stalk around, searching for flesh. Zombified horses are sometimes employed by humanoid zombies to act as mounts. They cannot speak, and are neutral evil in alignment.

What is the origin of the zombie legend? It seems that a “zombi,” from the Haitian word for the spirit of the dead is the most likely origin of our modern day zombies. Voodoo priests, or “Bokors” give the subject a black powder, made from ground plants and animals that contain the neurotoxin called tetrodotoxin which can cause paralysis and death. The theory is that the toxin is applied either onto the skin or is ingested where upon a death like state will occur.

By the way, The word horror (often associated with zombie animals) is derived from Latin meaning bristling, shaking or trembling. The Horror films genre is closely associated with nightmares, hidden fears, revulsions, terror of the unknown etc. Ghosts, aliens, vampires, werewolves, demons, vicious animals, zombies, monsters, cannibals, serial killers etc. and Republicans are prominent components of horror movies.

For Science Buffs: In paleontology, a zombie taxon (plural zombie taxa) or the zombie effect refers to a fossil such as a dinosaur tooth that was washed out of sediments and re-deposited in rocks and/or sediments millions of years younger. This basic mistake in the interpretation of the age of the fossil leads to its title. The discovered fossil was at some point mobile (or “walking”) while the original animal or plant had long been dead. When this occurs, the fossil is described as a “reworked fossil”.

When a zombie outbreak occurs they go for other meat to infect. Why does everyone automatically assume humans are the only source of meat on the planet? Don’t dogs, lions, gorillas, and every other animal on this earth have meat? Naturally some of these other animals might be subject to chomping on by a zombie. However, a lot of other animals like meat too. And isn’t a slow moving brainless meat stick sound good to a pack of wolves or any other animal that likes to eat flesh? Zombies animals are thus born…

    Zombie Parties?

The zombie parties were Mrs. Juniper’s idea. Once Mabel Stevens came down with the zombie virus — the sallow eyes, the rabid, twitching jaw — Mrs. Juniper sent her son, Toby, across the street to play. Just one nibble, and the next day Toby was shambling downstairs for his Wheaties. Soon, the other parents joined in, dropping their children off for infectious playdates where they shared dishes of ice cream and brain-shapped lollipops with their undead classmates.
