More About Dog Tattoos

Dog Tattoos… Of all the different animals out there, this particular one has the biggest following when it comes to memorial tattoos. That’s because most people who get dogs tattooed on them have a particular breed in mind. Getting your dog tattooed is a fairly popular theme because dogs can have an amazing impact on people’s lives. Some even see their dogs as being their best friends. So when they eventually pass, getting a memorial tattoo is a good way for some people to cope with the loss.

Other than memorial tattoos, people will get dog tattoos to represent themselves. Those who think that they are tough will go for tattoos of strong breeds, etc.

The bulldog is also a common symbol for a variety of sports teams. The bulldog is a symbol of the Citadel, University of Georgia, Fresno State, Georgetown, and Yale. In total, there are over 30 different universities that use the bulldog as a symbol of their school. If you go to one of these schools or you are a college fan, you may consider getting a bulldog tattoo. This just shows how popular the bulldog symbol actually is. The bulldog is used to symbolize sport teams all around the world.

Animal tattoos are very popular, dog tattoos are no exception ! A lot of people like to get tattoos of their dogs or pets. You have to decide the dimensions of your dog tattoo that you would like. Some people like a very dramatic tattoo that tends to be quite large. While other people like something not so extreme or “in your face.”

People that like larger dog tattoos tend to prefer getting them placed on their arm or leg, in general. If you are looking at smaller dog tattoos, people like to get them on the back of their shoulder, ankle, or on the stomach right above the pant line. There is no right or wrong place to get a tattoo placed. Where ever you want it, get it.

In the Polynesian Islands such as Tahiti, a tribe known as the Otaheites appeared to tattoo themselves for religious significance. Common tattoos among them were squares, circles and crescents, along with men and dog tattoos. In this tribe every person was tattooed without exception as they reached adulthood.

In Fiji only women were tattooed in a tradition dating back hundreds of years. It was believed that they were tattooed more for adornment than any other reason. A tattoo was seen as a decoration that beautified the women in preparation to find or keep a husband.

Before you get your bulldog tattoo or any tattoo, there are some important things that you need to remember. Make sure you take the time to research the tattoo that you want. Be sure to completely understand what your tattoo represent and stands for. Don’t rush to get inked! Men and women that rush to get tattooed on an impulse usually regret their tattoo later in life. If you are not completely sure, give it time. If you feel that the bulldog tattoo isn’t for you or you want to view more dog tattoos.
