Disappointed in illustratons,
Love the idea – taking the classic fairy tales and creating a visual story. Though the illustrations are, in and of themselves, beautiful they failed to illuminate the story. All of the characters were drawn in such a way so that they appeared to be from the same family.
That made it weird when it came to Cinderella and the Prince. They looked like brother & sister.
Although a good idea, this book was not a hit with my 3rd grader, nor her friends.

|Beautifully illustrated!,
Like Rapunzel, Cinderella is illustrated by Jeffrey Stewart Timmins and he shines here as well. I especially loved how he treated the women’s hair and silhouettes in Cinderella. He has again used watercolor to create these beautiful washes of color but small details too. Thought again I would have wished the speech bubbles be hand drawn.
I love the story of Cinderella and with the addition of Jeffrey Stewart Timmins’s illustration this is a winning rendition. Like the other Capstone offerings from the Graphic Spin line in the back of the book you will find a history of the fairy tale, discussions and writing prompts. Cinderella is a reading level of 2.1 or I.

|What a fine book,
What a treat! The high-quality paper and the textured end pages are remarkable! This would be a great gift for an older child.
This book is a graphic novel of Cinderella — it tells the whole story with all the details. The illustrations are in sepia tones, which makes for surprisingly fine storytelling. It is easy to follow the story, and the use of silhouettes to convey sadness at the beginning is very well done. Cinderella is not just for little kids — this is a memorable book with a well-told story. It also includes a very fine history of the Cinderella tale.
What a find!
